Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival - October 30 - November 2, 2014

Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival

Over 300 booths overlooking fantastic Victoria Harbour celebrating food and wine from around the world...

Wine tastings, live music and entertainment, culinary highlights, signature dishes from Hong Kong's top hotels and restaurants, pastries, cheeses, great wines and a fun atmosphere.

And don't miss the Tasting Room with great offerings for wine pairing dinners, mastering wine and cheese, etc.

When?: October 30 - November 2, 2014

  • Thursday October 30 - 8:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
  • Friday October 31 - 4:00 pm - midnight
  • Saturday November 1 - noon - midnight
  • Sunday November 2 - noon - 10:30 p.m.

Where?: Important: The Festival's location has moved to Kai Tak, location adjacent to the new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Free shuttle bus service will be offered from the following MTR stations: East Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Tong and Lam Tin. The New Central Harbourfront, near Central Piers 9 and 10, easiest way to get there? With the Star Ferry, just a couple minutes away from the Central Pier.

How Much?: FREE. Admission has been waived but visitors must still buy wine passes for tastings. A HK$200 wine pass includes eight tasting tokens and a wine glass. Adults HK 30, Children (3-11) and Seniors HK 15.

Must be 18 or older.

The festival is ongoing through November 30, 2014 with city-wide carnivals and dining offers throughout the territory.

The largest wine show in Asia, with wines and spirits from over 37 regions being represented. It is mainly a trade show but on the last day it is open to the public.

Fun events like cocktail mixing demonstrations, wine competitions, wine auctions and of course wine tastings.

When?: November 6-8, 2014 open to the trade. For the general public age 18 and older open on November 8, 2014 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

North Sea Jazz Festival Hong Kong - November 14 - 16, 2014 Cancelled

North Sea Jazz Hong Kong

The North Sea Jazz Festival, the world's premier jazz event and touted as "one of the top 10 events in the world" by Time magazine, is to be staged in Asia for the first time in the festival's history.

Hong Kong's spectacular New Harbour Front in Central Hong Kong Island will be home to three glorious days of jazz when the North Sea Jazz Festival debuts from November 14 to 16, 2014.

Although the festival's base is jazz, many genres are also presented, blues, soul, hip hop... For its Hong Kong debut, North Sea Jazz will feature HK's most publicly recognized jazz musician, Eugene Pao, as well as leading international performers Joss Stone, Sergio Mendes, Laura Fygi, Al Jarreau, Yuna, Jamie Cullum and more.

When? Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 14, 15, 16, 2014

Hong Kong WinterFest

Hong Kong WinterFest is the series of events sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board which kick-off late November/early December and run up until the New Year's Countdown on January 1st.

One of the highlights is the centrepiece in Central's Statue Square, which becomes the season's icon. Last year's theme "Wishes on the Wind", a 15 metre contemporary sculpture featuring three dandelions beautifully illuminated and carrying special wishes in the wind for the holiday season was the hallmark at Statue Square.

Pulse: Hong Kong's Newest 3D Light Show

Pulse Hong Kong 3D light show

Hong Kong Pulse is the city's newest light show, a great FREE show with spectacular 3D audiovisual effects in the Kowloon harbourfront at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the TST Clock Tower, just a short walk from the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry station and the Avenue of the Stars.

In November, the theme will coincide with the Wine and Dine Festival and will run until mid-November. There are several nightly sessions, each 15 minutes long.

When?: October 29 to November 16, 2014 - 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm and 10:00pm nightly

The Symphony of Lights

HK Symphony of Lights
The Symphony of Lights is Hong Kong's light and sound show, a tribute to the city and its people, their diversity, energy and vitality.

The stage is the entire city, which is what makes it so unique, you can watch the lights from just about anywhere in the waterfront. This free show offered by the city, takes place every night at 8:00 pm and lasts aboout 15 minutes.

When?: Every Night

Where?: Can be seen from both sides of Victoria Harbour

The Happy Valley Horse Races

Happy Valley Horse Races

Happy Valley Hong Kong whether or not you are a horse racing enthusiast is an experience not to be missed!

The beautiful horses, the skillful jockeys, the crowds going wild, they all add up to an exciting, fun-filled, thrilling atmosphere in a world-class venue.

The Happy Valley race course itself is a sight in itself, the city has built around it through the years and it is now practically surrounded by skyscrapers, an awesome experience specially at night when the city is illuminated.

When?: Wednesday Nights. First race starts at 7:15 p.m. and the gates open at 5:15 p.m. The races are done by 11:00 p.m.

Where?: Happy Valley Race Course

How Much? Depends, there are many ways to experience the races, from General Stand to Private Boxes and special packages including dinner and drinks. General Stand entrance starts at HK10.
